Chanel Holiday

Thursday, May 2, 2013

I worked a 15 hour shift yesterday (yes, I know, brutal) between both jobs. When I got home I knew I wanted to do my nails because they had chipped and I had picked at the polish. Earlier this week my boyfriend surprised me with a nail polish haul he did at Nordstrom’s, and got me 2 Debra Lippmann’s and one Chanel polish. My very first Chanel polish !!!!! I’ve been working both jobs this whole week and get home late, so I haven’t had time to try them out. Last night I was determined!!!! I got home around 11:15 p.m and began my mani at midnight. I was too tiered to do the clean up of my cuticles… so please forgive me.

This is Chanel Holiday. The formula is a bit sheer, and even after 2 coats, you can still see through it a bit. The picture below isn’t true to color. My bathroom light makes it look a lot redder than it really is. This polish is more of an orange red color. My boyfriend likes this shade because it looks “classy.”

This picture right here captures the true color of the polish. Like I said, it’s more of an orange than a red, again, sorry for the polish on my cuticles and sides. I really like this color, and think it’s a good “go to” color anyone should have.

China Glaze and Candy Lacquer

Wednesday, May 1, 2013

I’ve really been feeling the bright neon colors lately, maybe it’s because spring is starting to roll around, or maybe it’s because my boyfriend is into the bright polish also.

Last Friday I received my first nail mail package from Canada from a fellow nail polish addict. If you want to know what nail mail is, then here is a link to Justricarda’s blog explaining what it is. One of the polishes I received was China Glaze Loves a Beach. I really don’t have many “high-end” nail polish due to the fact that I work so much, that I only have time to run to the nearest drug store or pick some up when I am getting household items at Walmart. I wish I had time to go to Ulta or Nordstrom sect. to shop.. but I don’t. Once I opened the package I knew I wanted to use this polish right away. The formula was nice and solid and it only took 2 coats to get an even distribution. The first coat dried a bit on the matte side, but I think once I added the second coat it kinda gave it a slight shine.

As you can see here, the polish is super bright, and seriously glows in the daylight lol. I kept on staring at my nails in every angle and lighting because I was in AWE over this color.

I decided to amp up this polish with an indie I had been dying to use since I got it about a month ago. I knew right off the back that I wanted to pair it up with this bright beauty. This is Candy Lacquer City Girl this polish has a clear bas with black, white and multi color matte glitter along with some glitter bars. I used two coats of this polish.

If you are in the market for indies, then I HIGHLY recommend getting some from Candy Lacquer. This is by far my favorite indie brand so far. The variety of glitter combos she comes up with is superb. I own about 10 so far and am always looking forward to her new creations.

Sinfulcolors Sinfulshine and Cheeky Nail plates

Tuesday, April 30, 2013

So about a week or so ago I saw a post from Nouveau Cheap about a new Sinfulcolors nail polish line. It's called Sinfulshine and it's their take on the gel nail polish. It has Gel Tech which is suppose to have 5x the glossy shine than regular polish, without having to be cured like gel polish. Let me tell you that I RAN to 3 Walgreens around my area but didn't find. I was a bit upset that I might be missing out on some awesomeness. I was teaching a class in a near by city and drove by a Walgreens and decided to stop. I ended up getting about 5 shades that caught my eye at first glance.

The formula on these is beyong amazing!!! So creamy and has a good thickness to it. Not to thick that it clumps and not to thin, that it runs. It's just right for the finish it has, a super glossy gem.

This is Rendezvous.

I decided to use one of my Cheeky nail stamping plates on this. The plate has 4 full nail stamps and 2 small ones. The plate is CH40 and has all these cool nail art/ beauty related stamps. I am in LOVE with this plate, haven't seen one like it. I used the Sinfulshine Mardi Gras to stamp with.

Here is a better picture of the designs.

I was never paid, or recieved anything from the products I have reviewed. I got these products with my own money.

Milani Textured Nail Polish

Monday, April 29, 2013

About two weeks ago, Milani Cosmetics was having a sale on their website. One of the things on sale was their Textured Nail polish. You could purchase the whole set of 6 for only $20. I jumped on that sale quick and ordered my set.

This is a picture of the polish.

From left to right: Purple Streak, Shady Grey, Tainted in Red, Yellow Mark, Spoiled in Fuchsia, and Aqua Splash.

This is the quick mani I am wearing today. Tainted in Red and Aqua Splash.

I'm really feeling these textured polishes. They arent like my Julie G Gumdrops or any of those other glittery textured one that are out right now. These look like the stuff they put on the ceiling as a textured finish.

I was never paid to review this product. I got this product with my own money and am not being paid to advertise it.. or review it.

Well hello there.....

Through out most of a nail polished obsessed girl's life, we decide to take our obsession one level up and create a blog. Now there are many of these blogs out there, some very professional and well put together... others... well others are like this one lol. I work roughly about 70 hours a week between both jobs. Yes, you read that right, I have 2 jobs. Not to mention 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 2 boyfriends.... lol jk. I only have 1 awesome and amazing guy in my life. I work 2 jobs due to the fact that I am a bit of a workaholic, I have to be doing something all the time. Due to the fact that I’m always working, I tend to be on the rush and only have a limited amount of time to do my nails. This blog is my travels through nail polish during a hectic schedule. There will be vague descriptions, armature pictures, and on the fly postings. Sorry if you are expecting a very detailed review and picture perfect, edited photos. Most of mine will be taken from my phone. With that being said….. welcome to my polished life.
